Travels (related to the Christian life) took me to Minnesota recently. Though I love the southwest, there are things there I find refreshing in the Midwest:

In Matthew 6;28-30 and Luke 12:27, Jesus urged HIs followers to "consider the lilies of the field." Even Jesus' fabulously wealthy ancestor, King Solomon, could not clothe himself as beautifully as God clothes in the fields in beautiful flowers. The flowers don't toil, labor nor spin as humans do to be so beautifully clothed. It is a reminder not to worry; whatever we have, God ultimately provides.
